Trustworthy Saying

Text: I Timothy 1:15   IBCWPM   December 7, 2005

Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar

Simple words today, classic sayings tomorrow. That's exactly what becomes of the words spoken by prudent men of the past. Good sayings are powerful words that can gently touch hearts of people who desire to walk in the path of wisdom.

It is undeniable that inspirational sayings have the power to inspire ordinary men to do extra-ordinary tasks in their sub-normal condition. In our spiritual life, motivational sayings are very effective in encouraging potential people to use their God-given gifts and talents for the glory of God. Well-received and well-applied sayings can dramatically produce a life-changing effect in one's life.

In I Timothy 1:15, it is written, This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (KJV) This passage from the Bible is far greater than the sayings of great and honorable men of the world. The Apostle Paul told Timothy that this saying is trustworthy, and as such, we believe that it is also worthy to be carefully studied today so we could have a better understanding concerning the Lord's remarkable visit on earth.

                  (I) Christ Jesus Came Into The World To Save Sinners

    I Timothy 1:15

The word "Christ" reminds us of the promised Savior of the world.

    Luke 2:11

The name "Jesus" reminds us of the manifestation of Christ on earth.

    Acts 8:32-35   9:4-5

The verb "came" reminds us of His unforgettable visit and His mindfulness to a fallen

    human race.      I Timothy 1:15

The phrase "into the world" reminds us of His humility and obedience.

    Philippians 2:5-8

The phrase "to save sinners" reminds us of His ultimate mission triggered by God's love.

    John 3:16     Romans 5:8

Many people love quoting eye-catching phrases written in famous books and popular magazines, but when it comes to Bible passages, it is so sad because they don't even mind reading, studying and memorizing the Scriptures. The Word of God must be a part of our thought life, speech, conviction, action and vision.

The phrase "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" is one the best sayings we could share today. Souls are dying and going to hell. People need the Lord Jesus Christ, but how would they know Him without a preacher or a teacher of the Word? It's high time to share the Gospel of Christ! Keep in mind that only true believers could fulfill the Great Commission.

Keep on telling the whole world that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and see people come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
